12x12 is an initiative to multiply entrepreneurship in Massachusetts by engaging the creativity and experience of 12 of some of the state’s leading CEOs and 12 venture capitalists (VCs). They are coming together to identify, enable, and mentor the entrepreneurs who are creating the next generation of technology companies in the Mass Tech Hub.
12x12 shines a spotlight on the state's vibrant environment for entrepreneurship and the vitality of Massachusetts as a global hub of technology and innovation. Through 12x12, some of the region’s most successful CEOs and VCs have come together in an unprecedented collaboration to accelerate the mix-and-match of great technology and business ideas and entrepreneurs, with the capital, support, and leadership to speed up the formation and growth of new business and increase their likelihood of success. Since its launch in 2010, 12x12 has received the unexpected support of leading business services providers who share 12x12’s commitment to strengthen Massachusetts as one of the worlds’ best places for technology entrepreneurs and start-ups.
The idea for 12x12 evolved from conversations that began in the Mass Tech Hub Collaborative, a group of tech sector leaders from industry and academia who convene since early 2009 in response to Governor Patrick's call to enhance competitiveness in the digital and information technology industries of Massachusetts. The Mass Tech Hub Collaborative continues to identify opportunities and launch initiatives to strengthen this important industry and the Massachusetts Tech Hub.
